CLASS 3
A Class 3 licence lets you operate certain commercial vehicles, plus any motor vehicle a Class 5 licence allows, and is required for several construction and city jobs that require loading and unloading vehicles.
Step 1: Meet the Requirements
There are a few mandatory requirements before you take the knowledge test.
- Check You must be at least 18 years of age
- Hold a valid Class 5 licence, at minimum
- Complete a vision assessment
- If you are required to operate air brake equipped vehicles, you must pass the open_in_newAir Brake (Q) Endorsement.
Step 2: Test Your Knowledge

Step 3:Prepare for the Road Test
In order to attempt the road test, ensure you complete the following requirements.
Step 4: Take the Class 3 Road Test
Now that you’ve completed all your classes and passed your knowledge test, you’re ready to get behind the wheel. To book your Class 3 road test, you’ll need:
- Valid government-issued ID, such as driver’s licence or passport (please note: a driver’s licence is required for online bookings)
- Copy of your Vision Assessment
- Verification of completion of the Class 3 knowledge and Air Brake (Q) endorsement (if applicable) knowledge tests
