CLASS 1
A Class 1 driver’s licence allows you to drive almost any type of vehicle other than a motorcycle, which requires a Class 6 licence. This licence offers the most career options, including commercial truck drivers, haulers, delivery and more.
MELT 1 - EXPERIENCE & EQUIVALENCY
The Curriculum for the Experience and Equivalency Class 1 MELT Program is totally based on the NOS Commercial Vehicle Operator (Truck Driver)
CLASS 2
A Class 2 driver's licence allows you to drive a bus and any type of vehicle allowed with Class 3, 4, or 5 driver's licence permits.
CLASS 3
A Class 3 licence lets you operate certain commercial vehicles, plus any motor vehicle a Class 5 licence allows, and is required for several construction and city jobs that require loading and unloading vehicles.
AIR BRAKES
When a person successfully completes an approved Alberta air brake course through an authorized agency, an air brake endorsement (the letter Q) will be placed on that driver's licence.
